The Future for Women in Construction

Webinars about Women in the trades are quite common at the moment, everyone has an opinion about why women should be in the construction industry.  The ones that we have attended though focused on women who were in the trades and have since been promoted off the tools.  Our group is different.  They are all currently working in the industry and they have voices that deserve to be heard.  The panel have been working together through the Empowering Women to Lead (EWtL) course at CLAC.  They have been discussing their experiences, looking at the ways the industry has changed and trying out ways to change the culture of their jobsites.

We posed all of our panelists these questions: what is the industry like for you now, what changes have you seen, what needs to change to make the industry more appealing to women and who is responsible for making these changes.  Their answers may surprise you!

CLAC's Supervisor Micro Certification Program (SMCP) is designed to educate construction leaders on the significance of people-centric leadership, with a focus on understanding and nurturing individual team dynamics. It is clear that effective leadership extends beyond ensuring team success and safety; it involves personalized engagement, coaching, and mentoring to empower teams and achieve project excellence.
